UDHR Playing Cards

I had the opportunity to work with UDHR to create a more accessible and engaging way to present the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Human rights are fundamental, but they’re often communicated in a way that feels distant or hard to connect with. The goal was to design something that would not only educate but also spark conversation and make these important principles feel more personal.
I designed the UDHR playing cards to bridge that gap, transforming complex principles into something tactile and easy to understand. Each card highlights a key article from the Declaration, combining thoughtful typography, a balanced color palette, and clean design to make the content feel clear and inviting. I chose red and pink tones to evoke warmth and humanity, balanced with shades of gray to create a sense of structure and stability. The typography is a mix of modern serif and sans-serif fonts, reinforcing a balance between tradition and modernity.
My goal was to create a deck that feels intuitive and meaningful. The design encourages people to engage with human rights naturally, whether they’re playing a game or just reflecting on the message. The UDHR playing cards make these important principles more tangible, serving as a daily reminder of equality, freedom, and dignity.
